This restaurant was recommended to me so me and my husband decided to go there for dinner on my birthday. The hostess was very polite and seated us promptly. The appetizers arrived within 20 minutes of ordering which was noteworthy. Also our server was very helpful and even offered to take our picture which looked great. He also knew the menu well and his recommendations did not disappoint. The weather was very cool but not chilly and the ambiance is indeed quite refreshing as its along the beach and you do see the waves as they crash upon the shore with a few lights from neighbouring properties in the distance which gave it a very romantic appeal.

I would definitely recommend this restaurant and it does have very savoury and delicious cuisine and the staff were friendly and offered good service. The only minor drawback was that they had not done anything special for my birthday even though they were informed by my husband when he made the reservations. I know some restaurants do something for patrons on special occasions such as give them a slice of cake or even sing Happy Birthday. I won't hold that against them though as it was probably an oversight.

All in all its a lovely place to dine.

We found Mangos by chance after driving around looking for a restaurant

and we'd definately go back. It was not the cheapest restaurant to dine in

with a steak at £25 but it was well worth it, as it was large and full of flavour.

The meat on the ribs was plentiful and the chicken dish was superb. Everything

was bursting with flavours. There was a group of 8 of us including 2 kids and

they had a great kids menu and even gave them colouring crayons and a picture.

Service was excellent from start to finish with nothing being too difficult. The little

one has overdone the sun that day and was feeling cold and one of the staff gave him their cardigan. Mangos is definately a must when we go back!

I was recently in Barbados on a sight inspection trip for Travel Agents. We had dinner on Saturday, Sep. 22 at Mango's by the Sea. Since we were a group of 12, a special meal was pre-planned for us. The Baby Back Ribs were offered as an appetizer and the best I have ever eaten. Our entrees consisted of Lemon Grass Chicken, Marinated Duck Breast and Tropical Blackened Fish.

I chose the duck and was quite pleased.

What did not please me, however, was the extremely poor service from our initial drink orders to the desserts. This is not a large restaurant and the staff knew they had a group of 12 travel agents critiquing this establishment. We spent 3 hours at this restaurant because of the poor service.

On a positive note, the ocean view from this restaurant is magnificient.

We found Mango's quite by chance 4 years ago and it's still my favourite on the island. Don't be put off by the exterior - once you get upstairs you can sit with a cocktail and watch the sunset before going to your table overlooking the beach and then watch the crabs chasing up and down. The staff are friendly, unobtrusive but very helpful. The owner is a delight - his recital of the daily specials is not to be missed. The wine list is not as overpriced as many places in Barbados and you won't be pushed into buying expensive bottled water either. The menu changes - sadly my favourite 'trio of fish' has gone this year but everything we have had is excellent. We cannot recommend Mango's enough!

We had a delightful evening at Mango's. The food was wonderful, served in a beautiful beachside restaurant - so friendly and relaxed, unlike some of the more pretentious establishments on the West Coast - although we have eaten very well in most of them! A return trip is definitely on the cards. The cuisine is varied - we had fish soup, caribbean chicken spring rolls, spare ribs, local fish, steaks - all lovingly prepared and enjoyed tremendously by all our party! Try it.
