Champers Restaurant & Wine Bar

The food was great. The location is lovely, right on the water.
My issue with this restaurant is how they handled our reservation. We called two days ahead to book a table as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary.
We asked for a 7:30 pm reservation. A few minutes after we hung up the phone, the restaurant called back to ask us to come at 7pm instead. We complied. However, once we got there it was totally unclear to me why we were asked to arrive earlier since many patrons were arriving long after we did. ??
They offered us a table indoors right next to a family with very young children. The location was hot and stuffy and sitting next to squirmy tired young ones was hardly the romantic meal I had in mind. When we asked for a table outside we were told they were all booked. By that time I've just about had enough of this nonsense, especially given that we made our reservation 2 days prior!
When I told the maitr'd that we were leaving they 'found' us a table that was on the cusp between indoors and outdoors, but at least there was a decent breeze.
Thankfully the food and service were great, otherwise it would have been a total washout of an evening.

$165 US for 3 people, 2 glasses of wine, 2 appetizers, 3 entrees, tax, tip, etc. For such an outstanding resaurant, the price is right on. The food is outstanding in all respects, the atmosphere is fantastic (very nice decor), the personnel are well-trained. A totally enjoyable meal that left us all very happy and very full!
