Mama Mia

Tonight was the first time I went to Mama Mia for a friend's birthday. I ordered the veal and it took FOREVER to come. I mean...everyone else was finished eating by the time my food arrived. Apparently, they forgot to send my order to the kitchen. By the time the food arrived I was no longer even hungry but didn't wish to make a scene.

The food was also tasteless. It tasted like the sort of food you would feed a diabetic or a hypertensive in a hospital. The portions were also very tiny. I asked the waitress if this meal would be complimentary (after the terrible service) and she said YES! The entire table heard when she said this. So imagine my surprise when I was leaving and had to pay for the meal. I said ...but...the waitress said I wouldn't have to pay. After the cashier consulted with her, she said the waitress had never said such a thing and she (the waitress) stared me down with this evil death stare as I settled my bill. It was so unnerving that I had to stand outside of the building while my friends settled their bills too because the waitress would not stop staring at me with hatred in her eyes. My friends noticed it too!

And to top it off, the decor is awful and cluttered and confusing. The space is very cramped inside. The people did not even ask us if we enjoyed our meals but I guess they knew the answer. I will NEVER return there. It was terrible. I did not even receive a glass of water as I sat down and I had ordered a glass of sprite and it was taken from me before I was finished.

I would usually make a scene but it was my friend's birthday and I did not wish to embarrass him. As I am typing, I am hoping the taste of that horrible meal will go away. Well no...I'm lying. The food had no taste. I had to ask for some salt because I was considering packing it up to feed to my dogs but they probably would have sniffed it and walked away.

NEVER GO TO MAMA MIA'S! I REPEAT. NEVER GO TO MAMA MIA'S!

We have been eating in Mama Mia`s since they first opened.We go to Barbados every February for a month and Mama Mia`s is a must.

We have a panini filled with artichokes,ham,mozzarella and tomatoes,washed down with the fresh ice cold homemade lemonade.Sitting at Brandons beach,what better is there.And the staff are so polite and friendly.

Our first trip to Barbados was fantastic and the food we had at Mama Mia's was excellent,freshley made pizza's superb pasta and of course Sylvia ,she was so warm and welcoming that we went back many times during our stay !!
